The People You Love

There are always flowers for those who want to see them. Henri Matisse

Wishing you a day filled with flowers. Inviting you to see the flowers, to smell the flowers no matter how challenging life may be today. Encouraging you to look for the abundance of miracles, no matter how small.

Letting you know, with certainty, that I am here in the mists of the digital world, wishing you the very best of days. And, sending good thoughts and prayers to everyone who needs them.

However your week went, give yourself permission to recharge over the weekend. Be with the people you love being with. Do the things you love to do. Have fun!

Yes, the things you love with the people you love, Gretchen

Always Be Kind

One thing many of us can agree on is that we can always use more kindness. Did you know that you benefit as much or more than the other person? Not only do you feel good, it sets off the feel-good chemicals in your brain, giving you a free “helper’s high.”

Need inspiration? Listen to Tim McGraw’s “Always be Humble and Kind.”

Spread the love, Gretchen

Braver, Stronger, Smarter

Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.  Winnie the Pooh

Yes, that means you and everyone you know. Never forget it. Never doubt your own strength and ability to overcome challenges. And, no, you are not the exception.

LOL! Love you, Gretchen

There is a Moment

There exists a moment when you awaken into consciousness, but your mind and body have not yet engaged with the external world.

In the presence of this moment, worry and fear and grief can’t xo-exist.

In this moment hangs the possibility that the email or the phone call or the money will arrive today. In this moment lives the possibility that a gift will arrive that in this moment is unimaginable.

When the shadows intrude on your day, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and remember this moment. Have faith that life will bestow this moment on you every day, if you have awareness of it.

Let the connection to this moment bring you hope and peace and joy.

With gratitude for the gift of the moment, Gretchen

Looking Fear in the Face

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” Eleanor Roosevelt

What fears are yours to carry today? What fears belong to someone else? Does it serve you to carry others’ fears?  Finish this sentence, “If fear didn’t stop me, today I would _____.”

When we carry burdens that aren’t our own, we drain our energy. Leaving us less able to take meaningful action and feeling less happy. Causing us to perpetuate a negative spiral instead of a positive spiral.

Let’s lift as we rise, Gretchen

The Opposite of Love is Not Hate

The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. Elie Wiesel

As we walk through another week where challenges and fear weighs down our hearts, let us not forget that love conquers hate. Let us not fall victim to indifference, but find the courage to care in the face our own despair. Let us not shut down our hearts, but find the strength to love harder than we thought possible. Let us not give up hope, but find the faith to know we can rise above this as we have overcome so many adversities.

Let love be our resistance.

Sending you love, courage, strength, and faith. Let’s pay it forward.

Shine On!

Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Harriet Tubman

When you let your light shine, you inspire light in others. You change the world, one person at a time. As a wise man in Dallas told me (you know who you are), shine on.

Like lasers, Gretchen

Your Soul Knows

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. Carl Jung

Sometimes, the hardest thing is knowing what our heart truly wants, what will really make us happy. We tell ourselves we can’t, or we shouldn’t. We listen to others and let them convince us that we should want something else.

Stop and listen. Your soul knows. Your heart knows. If you need a little help, listen to another one of my favorite songs: bit.ly/KnowYourSoul

Know your soul, Gretchen
